Email Lists
This page gives brief descriptions of email lists that are relevant to woodenflute.com
members. An email list is a distribution list where a member can send a message to the main
email list address and it is forwarded to anyone who chooses to subscribe. This
results in a forum for discussion that can be described as somewhere between a chat
room and an online email magazine.
This page is not the place to subscribe to an email list. Please read
the descriptions below for directions on how to subscribe to a particular email list.

The woodenflute email list is the companion list to this website. It is an unmoderated list intended for general discussion of all wooden flute related topics, including performance tips, recording techniques, upcoming events, and instrument making. I would like to push this list specifically toward Irish flute related topics and Irish traditional music as performed on simple system flutes with 0-8 keys. I hope this will allow it to peacefully coexist with the other available lists. On 3/4/2001 there were 198 subscribers to this list, and an additional 92 subscribers to the digest version. This list also has a digest mode. To subscribe to this list or the digest, first become a member of the woodenflute.com website, then visit your member preferences page and select the appropriate check box.

The Early Flute email list is a moderated list hosted at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/earlyflute by Les Green. It appears to have originated on May 9, 1998 and my first glances at the archives of the list lead me to believe that it focuses more on baroque flute than Irish flute, although one of the list members read this description and let me know that there has been discussion of Irish flute on the list.
